Diabetic foot complications are among the most common — and most costly — outcomes you’ll meet in practice. This course gives you the clinical confidence to assess, manage and refer, guided by UCT’s endocrinology faculty.
Manage the diabetic foot with confidence
Every week in general and specialist practice, you see the early signs — the loss of sensation, the callus that won’t heal, the pulse that’s harder to find. Getting the next step right is the difference between a managed patient and an amputation. Yet foot care is rarely taught as a structured clinical skill.
Over five focused, one-hour lessons, UCT’s endocrinology faculty walk you through a practical, southern-African approach: how to screen and risk-stratify, how to manage the wound and the whole patient, when to escalate, and how to build a referral pathway that actually works in your setting. It’s built around the cases you already see — not theory written for another health system.
By the end of this course
